Hyderabad, 5th Nov, 09: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman ever to score 17,000-runs in one-day internationals, when he scored seventh run during the 5th ODI against Australia at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad.
S.Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket, Tendulkar crossed the 17,000-run mark during his 435th game in front of a packed Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at Hyderabad.
Tendulkar has not been in good form recently as he scored just 90 runs in the previous four games of the series.
Tendulkar is the highest run getter in both Test and ODI matches, moreover he is the most centurian in either form of the game.
There are only a few Other leading run-scorers in ODI with 10,000 runs so far, which are as follow:
1. Sanath Jayasuriya - 13,377 runs.
2. Ricky Ponting - 12,286 runs.
3. Inzamam-ul Haq - 11,739 runs.
5. Sourav Ganguly - 11,363 runs.
6. Rahul Dravid - 10,765 runs.
7. Brian Lara - 10,405 runs.
8. Jacques Kallis - 10,328 runs.
